Intimate Olema House Elopement » Olema, California » Erin Prado for VCP
What started as a family-only backyard ceremony at their East Bay home turned into something even more magical when Aoife and Kevin made the decision to pivot their celebration to the Olema House in West Marin. The move was originally made as a precaution against the rain, but as luck would have it, the day turned out to be a perfect sunny spring afternoon. The couple exchanged vows beside the rushing Olema Creek dotted with cherry blossom blooms, swollen and full from the winter rains, creating a serene and romantic backdrop for their intimate ceremony officiated by a family member. One of my favorite details was Aoife's practical yet charming green Wellington boots, a nod to the unpredictable Marin weather that added a touch of playful personality to the day. The creek-side setting felt beautifully raw and unhurried, with just their closest family gathered around to witness the moment these two said "I do." Afterwards, the newlyweds clinked champagne glasses with their loved ones in the lush gardens, soaking in the golden afternoon light together. The celebration wrapped up with an intimate family dinner indoors, the perfect ending to a day that proved sometimes the best wedding moments come from letting go of the original plan.
