Alyssa and Carson's wedding at the Falkirk Cultural Center in San Rafael was the kind of celebration that reflects exactly who a couple is. The Victorian mansion reminded them of the old, quirky house where they first met when Alyssa lived there, and that familiarity was the whole point. They got ready upstairs in the mansion before sharing their first look on the grand staircase, the kind of moment a space like Falkirk was made for. The ceremony took place in the garden, surrounded by the people closest to them, before guests moved to the patio for dinner and toasts as the afternoon light softened. Alyssa and Carson did much of the decor themselves, and in place of a wedding cake, they served brownies, the first thing Alyssa ever baked for Carson when they were dating. It was a detail that needed no explanation to anyone who knew them. After a few sunset portraits together on the grounds, the evening moved back inside for dancing and dessert, closing out a day that was small in size and full in every way that counts.
