Intimate Cavallo Point Lodge Wedding » Sausalito, California
For cinephiles Courtney and Wes, their intimate Cavallo Point wedding in Sausalito was a masterclass in composition, color, and storytelling, all through the lens of their favorite director, Wes Anderson. The day began with Courtney getting ready alongside her sisters and friends, and in true Anderson fashion, she eschewed tradition by choosing a stunning ombré blue dress instead of white. Courtney and Wes shared their first look on the porch of one of Cavallo Point's historic lodges, a moment that felt like it could have been plucked straight from a film frame. We then headed to Battery Yates for portraits with the iconic Golden Gate Bridge as our backdrop, carefully composing each shot with the symmetry and whimsy that defines Anderson's aesthetic. After exploring the waterfront, hotel grounds, and Mission Chapel for additional portraits, we made our way to the Verbena Room in the main lodge. Their intimate ceremony, beautifully officiated by one of Courtney's sisters, was filled with personal touches and heartfelt moments before we stepped back outside for group portraits on the lawn that could have doubled as a movie poster. The reception dinner began with a touching nod to their love story: tomato soup and grilled cheese, a tribute to their first date that also appeared on the hand-embroidered cloth napkin favors that Courtney had painstakingly created herself, each featuring an adorable soup and grilled cheese illustration. The evening concluded with lovely toasts and delicious dessert as guests enjoyed conversation under the glow of the Golden Gate Bridge against the starry night sky.
