Lake Merritt + Joaquin Miller Park Engagement Session » Oakland, California

When Elisa and Dave decided to do their engagement session, they knew that Oakland would be the perfect city to highlight for their portraits. We kicked things off at sunset near the Lake Merritt boathouse, where the two strolled hand-in-hand along the pier as the golden light caught the still water and the city skyline stretched out behind them. There's something so easy and natural about a couple who is truly comfortable in their own skin, and Elisa and Dave radiated that effortless connection throughout the entire shoot. As the light began to soften, we made our way over to Joaquin Miller Park, where the towering redwoods wrapped around us in that quiet, mossy stillness that makes the grove feel like its own little world. Walking through the forest floor together, the two shared laughs and stolen kisses beneath trees that have stood for centuries. The perfect reminder that some of the most beautiful moments don't need much more than good company and a great setting.
