Monika and Hugo knew from the start that they wanted their wedding to feel like a backyard party, casual and warm, the kind of gathering where people actually relax. The Rengstorff House in Mountain View delivered exactly that. Built in 1867, it is Mountain View’s oldest home and one of the finest examples of Victorian Italianate architecture on the West Coast, set within Shoreline Park with lakeside gardens that give the space an easy, open feel that a more formal venue never could. Family was at the center of everything, and the setting made room for that. Monika and Hugo’s wedding brought together Mexican and Chinese heritage, and the reception dinner reflected both, a spread of Mexican food shared around tables full of people who had traveled to be there. The money dance brought everyone onto the floor together, the kind of moment where generations stop watching from the sidelines and just join in. They wanted their wedding day to feel like being at home with the people they love, and that is exactly what it was.
