Chabot Space + Science Center Wedding » Oakland, California » Erin Prado for VCP
Zoe and Adam's springtime wedding at the Chabot Space and Science Center in Oakland was a celebration that perfectly blended science, tradition, and the natural beauty of the East Bay hills. The couple got ready at the Kissel Uptown Oakland Hotel, where they shared a sweet first look and captured portraits around the property before making their way to the Oakland Hills. At the Chabot Space and Science Center, Erin and the couple started with portraits among the towering redwoods surrounding the museum, taking advantage of the lush forest setting before moving to the museum's iconic giant telescopes for a more cosmic backdrop. The ceremony itself took place inside the planetarium, where the museum projected a stunning night sky and galaxy onto the dome ceiling, creating an otherworldly atmosphere as Zoe and Adam exchanged their vows. In keeping with Jewish tradition, the couple smashed a glass at the end of the ceremony to joyful cheers and signed their ketubah before joining their guests for cocktail hour. The dinner reception kicked off with a festive first dance between the newlyweds, followed by dances with their parents, and culminating in a traditional Jewish horah that had everyone on their feet in celebration. Guests then enjoyed a delicious buffet dinner accompanied by heartfelt and hilarious toasts from friends who shared stories and well-wishes for the couple. The evening concluded with dessert and more dancing, bringing together the perfect blend of science, tradition, and pure joy under the Oakland stars.
