Old Mill Park + Marin Headlands Elopement » Sausalito, California

What could be more iconically Northern Californian than redwoods and fog? Dorothy and Khanh traveled all the way from Southern California for a tiny celebration that captured the very essence of the landscape they love. We started the afternoon with portraits at Old Mill Park, where golden sunlight filtered through the towering redwood trees and created that soft, dappled glow that makes the forest feel almost otherworldly. From there, we headed to the coast where we were greeted by the Marin Headlands' famous coastal fog, rolling in thick and moody as if on cue. While Dorothy and Khanh had initially planned a grand wedding, their intimate cliffside ceremony, officiated by their good friend Iris and surrounded by the dreamy, foggy backdrop of the headlands, turned out to be nothing short of magical. After exchanging vows with the sound of the ocean below and the mist wrapping around them, we explored the atmospheric landscape for portraits that felt like they belonged in a dream. We wrapped up our afternoon at the Headlands Center for the Arts, the perfect ending to a day that proved sometimes the smallest celebrations leave the biggest impressions.
