Autumn Olema House Wedding » Olema, California
Autumn in West Marin has a particular quality to it, and Meghan and Michael's wedding at the Olema House felt like it was made for this time of year. The two got ready separately before meeting for their first look in the gardens, and from there we loaded into my car and headed into Point Reyes National Seashore for some portraits. We started at the South Beach overlook, where the Pacific sits wide and open on the horizon, then made our way to the Cypress Tree Tunnel, one of those places that earns its reputation every single time. Back at the Olema House, a close friend officiated the ceremony on the lawn before guests gathered for cocktails along Olema Creek as the afternoon fog settled in through the trees. Dinner was set creekside, and at every place setting Meghan and Michael had left a handwritten note for each guest, the kind of detail that takes real time and says something about who a couple is. The florals wove in foraged mushrooms as a nod to Michael's love of foraging, grounding the whole table in something specific and personal. When dinner wound down, the dancing moved under the redwoods and stayed there well into the evening under a sky full of stars.
