foggy engagement session

Foggy Redwood Grove Engagement Session » Joaquin Miller Park, Oakland by Vivian Chen

Erin and Real really lucked out on the morning of our mini engagement session at Joaquin Miller Park. It was the last Saturday of my holiday mini sessions and the forecast was predicting rain the week before. I was ready to reschedule when the storm shifted earlier but left us with a misty, foggy morning. These are the types of mornings I dream about in the redwoods. (Rainy day hikes in the redwoods are my absolute favorite.) Needless to say, I was excited when Erin and Real showed up for their session as the fog added an extra element of magic to the forest. I am so grateful to my couples who trust me to brave less than dry conditions weather conditions. I love being to capture and share my favorite place at its best: foggy, moody mornings.

Haight-Ashbury + Corona Heights Park Engagement Session » San Francisco, California by Vivian Chen

Stephanie and Matt have lived in the Haight-Ashbury neighorhood for seven years and really wanted to commemorate a few of their favorite spots with their engagement session. Having also lived in the neighborhood back in my 20s, I had a blast walking the streets with these two and chatting about what’s changed and what’s stayed the same. We started off with a few slices of pizza at Escape From NY Pizza before walking over to Amoeba Records (still staying strong after all these years) to dig through their vinyl collection. Then it was a quick pit stop to their cute apartment before making the blustery, foggy and chilly trek up to the top of Corona Heights Park. Karl the Fog was putting on quite a show where the view should have been but it wouldn’t be a San Francisco photo shoot without him.
